Pencil

I've always preferred to write in pencil instead of pen

I didn't ponder much on it, didn't realise it until just now

I just thought writing with a pencil let words flow more smoothly

No need to apply pressure, just glide it through

That is, until I found out there's a deeper meaning to it, or so I'd like to believe

"You write your life in pencil because everyone makes mistakes. That's why there's an eraser"

But the most glorious moments in life should be written in ink, permanently
